this was a bit of an experiment in stylized realism. went a little heavy on the realism and a little light on the stylization for my tastes, but that's just something to play with on the next one!

the sculpting looks amazing on this! I very much love the ears, and expression. Also the subtle shading to bring all the details out.
I am not sure about the eyes though, they just seems off to me. The viewers left (your right) seems much smaller than the other, and both eyes just seem..small. Perhaps winding the eye holes? I am not sure if it's the eyes themselves or just the holes. But wow this head will be amazing with the adjustment of the eyes I can't wait to see more from you, and was looking forward to your next mask :D

thank you for the constructive and useful criticism! I won't be doing much adjusting to this one, since everything's pretty well glued down, but I can see what you mean. I'll keep an eye on that in the future.
the eyes seem small to everyone but me, it seems! I thought they were about the right size, judging by a real lioness's head and the expression I was aiming for. she's supposed to be grinning and really squinty-eyed (small, squinted eyes are one of my favorite ways to draw really pleased expressions) but it's not very obvious from this angle that she's smiling, I guess.
like I said above: live and learn!
