Another one of Van's Pokemon. Van, a somewhat lazy, but nice guy who prefers to avoid battling, gets caught up in Lenora's desert ruins and fossil research. This Archeops evolves from an Archen which is revived from a Plume Fossil found in the ruins during Lenora's studies by using the revival machine powered by the Dream Mist.

However, this also brings back the pokemon's old memories, and Archen found herself oddly out of place in this new world she didn't know. Stressed from the laboratory's appearance, it was decided that Archen should end up in Van's care (taking in misfit pokemon is sorta his schtick) in order to let it out into the wilderness. Archen managed to evolve when the two of them were in mortal danger which only the ability to fly could save them from.

Due to being an apex predator in her previous life, Archeops is a real powerhouse and is one of Van's more frequently-used pokemon thanks to its power and its ability to carry him around from place to place. She's sort of to Van what Charizard was to Ash. The fact that Van has Archeops draws criticism from "N", who says that Van's claim of avoiding conflict loses credibility in light of wielding such a powerful pokemon.

Archeops is a very shy pokemon with somewhat low self-esteem who is having difficulty adjusting to her new environment. Due to this insecurity, she can be difficult to coax into battle, despite her overwhelming power. Developing confidence in its abilities is the story of its developing character.

I kinda like this picture; it makes the normally menacing Archeops seem timid and cute. I should get around to coloring it.
