Hey, guess who wrote a ~12,000 word novella?
It's the story of Cory, a kid who lives in Somil. It's the type of town you see in RPG video games: a mostly tranquil village, but with plenty of monster problems. Cory's just turned 14 and is about to train to be a warrior, but a magical spell derails his plans and forces him out into the wider world.

The overarching themes of this story are transformation, both literal and figurative, and friendship - in particular, the importance of making new friends and of recognizing the ones you already have.

EDIT: Revision 2 uploaded, about 24 hours after the first one. I changed some details in the opening, added a lot of notes to the appendix, and made some minor changes.
