I'm going to be trying this again tonight.
Anyway, this one was really easy. All you have to do, if you want to try this, is to take an apple, and I set mine on my kitchen table in the middle of the night. What you can also do (the tutorial I saw recommended this), is get a piece of white foam board from Office Max (because it's partially reflective), and set the apple as shown on the foam board, and hang a black sheet behind it. After that, take a white piece of string, and hang it beneath a flashlight of almost any sort (I used my maglite). From there, you set your camera to the LOWEST POSSIBLE ISO setting (mine was 64), and then play around with your aperture and exposure. The tutorial recommended f/8 and 8".
After that, you set up the shot, and while the shot is rolling, you take the string, and kind of dangle it around the apple, bobbing it a bit to make the 'smoke' look more realistic. From there, you do that until you have a little bit of time to spare, and for the last second, you pull away and shine the flashlight at the apple to light it up. Here's the tutorial online: http://photoextremist.com/fake-smok.....raphy-tutorial
