The Yule Cat is an Icelandic bogeyman who eats children who don't get new clothes for Christmas. No, really. Why would kids be punished for what other people choose to give or not give them for Christmas? I think it's because back in the old days of the puppet times, kids were the ones who were supposed to sew new socks to give away to relatives at Christmas. So apparently the idea was that the yule cat would scare kids into finishing the socks on time... so that they wouldn't feel guilty for making their relatives get eaten? I dunno.

I think this guy came out pretty cute.
