My loved one has AS as well, and though I don't I can certainly understand the feeling. I'm awful with names too, and I've forgotten the faces of people immediately after talking to them. I've gotten better over the years, but I'm still not quite there yet.

I think the internet makes things a tad easier, since pretty much everyone has an identifying screen name or a unique avatar to associate with them.

Interestingly I suffer from a very similar problem but have never been diagnosed with or believe I have Aspergers.

Yeah, that's why I didn't mention it right away - I know other people have this problem. Some people can't even recognize anyone's face (science author Oliver Sacks is among them).
