Been a little bored waiting between doing all of my planned projects and the two commissions I have to work on. Can't work on them right now since Fur Affinity is basically down and I need it for correspondence. Instead, I decided to amuse myself with a quick, 2 hour painting project.
I had done about 8 of the Lovecraftian Elder Gods/Great Old Ones http://fav.me/d484y6l as part of a project that, like a lot of work I seem to get involved in, unfortunately didn't take off. Cthugha was not in the list of Elder Gods I could choose from and eventually decided that, heck with projects, I'd do this one on my own.
Cthugha is described as being either a ball of fire, or more or less a second Sun. It's the colossal parent of fire. Generally shapeless I decided for the freaky screaming face since the underlying theme in all Call of Cthulhu works is the capacity for these things to induce insanity. Figured giant flaming head was a good candidate for that. I shall dub him "Mr. Happy".
Picture was a quick slop of color and mostly the smudge tool. Not that detailed but you get the idea of what it is. Straight Photoshop as per the norm for these things. One thing I don't like is how the dark, more smokey outlines look like a drop shadow. Keeps it different, though put this horror next to the picture that I did before this one, and one might think I lost my mind. Hehe.
