Just a cute little idea I had the other night - there is a subspecies of Monarch called a Queen butterfly that has a pink chrysilis, so I thought hey, wouldn't Maraschino's be pink if she hatched out of one? Had to see it on paper. ^_^
I'm still kinda working out her *actual* youth...I think she would still have been born the same as any mammal, but maybe there's a stage where she has to go inside the chrysilis to get her wings or something, not really decided on that yet. >u< Anyway, have some cute. :D

Aww, precious! <3 I've also thought that Luna could've been "hatched" in the same way, but I think her species would lay/give birth to these cocoons, rather than spin them, and would never be in a larval stage (I just can't picture her like that, lol). And baby Lunacorns would hatch out the cocoons, like this (or like Flutterby did, if you ever read the Serendipity books). :)
*nods* I vaguely recall the lecture we were given when I took one of psychology classes, it was examining several toons, among other things, and in particular, evolution of Mickey Mouse image -- from the initial hoodlum shape to the modern cute. Also, works of a few cartoonists, ranging from late 1800s to late '90s, who nailed the subject extremely well... Now if only I could recall any names two decades later...
