Pandora and Springstep attend to the dying Karl.
This is an illustration for the conclusion of the Pandora and Karl stories by Bernard Doove - which you can read here: http://www.chakatsden.com/chakat/St.....s/TOFC-14.html
I have had quite a history with these two characters, as I've been drawing them from the beginning - so this picture was very sad for me.

Both the story and your artwork are exelently done.
You really bring out the emotion of the moment allthough i must say having read the story before i saw your picture that in the theatre of my mind i saw things a little differently.
Not to say that it isnt good mind you, its just that my perception was a little different.

While other artists work on their grasp of anatomy and proportions, you have gone far past that. Art is not the simply act of correctly drawing someone or something. This picture perfect captures that.
Other pieces of artwork may be technically better, but this is probably the best one I've ever seen. This is why you have such an excellent reputation as an artist. Technical skill with true portrayal of life.
S'cuse me while I go cry some more.

I haven't had the chance to read very much of the stories, save for maybe a few some time ago. Just seeing this is enough to get me worked up. Its a ver touching picture, and I'm glad that hes being comforted before passing.
I once read that the sign of a good story is how well it brings in the reader's emotions, makes you think, affects you even after reading it. I guess the same could be said about a good art piece, it just doesn't have so many words.
You did rather wonderful on this.

An aged foxtaur...and then THIS scene too. *sniff*
I really hope that this wounderful picture will be part of the Pandora & Karl series book.
Kacey, i'm sure now you can really say - THIS picture made history.
And if you draw a picture from the following scene of the story(watching the sunset) i will really start crying now.

Heh, very nice piece. I could really see the emotions in each character. So much that I was very curious to what was going on. Strange, I was always weirded out by taurs. But after looking that, I had to read those stories. Pandora and Karl have such a chemistry. I am still trying to get caught up with most of the stories. But yeah, after reading the stories, which are pretty good, to my surprise and well thought out. Even I started to get choked up that the two passed away. But then again, in the last story, they are at their prime. Heh.
I just about teared up as soon as I saw the pic.
Reminds me alot of one of the stages on Elite Beat Agents with the girl, still looking on the bright side and hoping for her dad to return home, even though he did die in an accident.
That stage still gets to me even now.
Very beautiful work you've done.

I wish I had as much skill as you do but all I can hope is that someday
I'd read the story before being reminded of you contributions to the series. It's hard for me to face this as I have a good friend pass on earlier this year, so I know what Pandora and Springstep are going through.

I've read every story listed through Goldfur's site and its funny how attached you can become to the awesomeness of them, right down to Goldfur's first meeting with Garrek all the way through the various family lines and whatnot.. though, you've never really prepared for the sadness that manifests itself in some of them. I'll simply say it now.. I adored Karl and Pandora for the ways they influenced others and in some way myself.. farewell to these two great individuals who have touched many. *sobs*
I sobbed reading the ending to that story, could barely read the last paragraph everything was so watery. It ended and I applauded. Seeing this almost made my eyes tear up but Im glad it shows your work has that kind of emotional effect to touch the heart in such ways. Im happy though to see such emotion captured in one passionate scene that will always remain in their hearts and spirits. As Lt Yar once said "Death is that state in which one exists only in the memory of others, it is there for never ending. No goodbys, just good memories" :_)
