teaselbone is one of the very first artists that ever drew Rooth'ragon, lounging in the Giant's Club. He's come such a long way since then, with a combination of study and practice and natural awesome. This was another piece based on no-swift's piece, which itself took a lot of back-and-forth to get right. Portals are hard to think about to begin with, and when you add in size-changing effects, and funny camera angles, it gets downright WTF. But Teaselbone took it in stride, worked with me through the "umm"s, and once it clicked, it clicked. :) Rooth was mirrored at first, but he took the effort to fix it (thanks GuyInThePurpleHat for pointing it out).
I wanted to explore various ideas for using this concept for constructive purposes. Here he is giving his friends a dry place to hang out while waiting for a rainstorm to pass. Sure, some of the rain might come through the big portal, and make whatever's in front of the small portal all the more wet (think of a funnel), but Rooth doesn't usually wear any clothes, so not as big of a problem getting wet. ;)
Teaselbone worked really hard on this, making several tweaks for me, and including specs for multiple characters. And rain! Quite the challenging piece! I made sure he was taken care of for his extra work. He did a fantastic job. T, I promise it'll be easier next time, seriously!
