This is a commission piece, this time for a lady I go horseback riding on the weekends with. Its a take on the beaded bird design I have been playing with. The wings and head are my old-reliable, the Horizontal Dreamcatcher stitch and the body is the same design I use on my beaded bird design.

This thing was the first time I have worked with pearls in any real quantity and it was quite a bit of work. I had to hand ream out the hole of each pearl on the bird to allow for enough room to get two wires through the whole (and there are 42 pearls on the bird) and I also had to ream out the wholes on the larger pearls on the necklace. Thankfully, after the second or third stick from the reamer, I figured out that I could use the little rubber finger covers that we use at work to help flip through papers as thimbles and keep from sticking myself.

The pendant is 28 gauge plastic coated copper wire with gold seed beads and pearls (on the wings and on the head, with pearls on the body too), glass tube beads (the body) and Hematite tube beads (feet and beak). The necklace is pearls and Swarovski crystals on silk cord.
