this is awfully similar to my taygon weapons.....same idea behind the weapon changing mechanic between sword and pistol

I don't have any pictures......it's all in my head currently

it's pretty much the same hinge point but the overall look of the weapon and it's energy system would be different

I doodled up the blaster a few times then made the head set later on

today I thought why not make it also a knife/saber?

it's pretty much the same thing I've been thinking up for the last year.....I just couldn't get it down on paper

the basic difference between yours and my designs is that my design is meant for a pair of pistols and not just one

the power cores of both running in sync with each other and creating a bigger and powerful blade as a result

and of course running of power crystals unique to my race :P

in this story line star crystals found on other planets have replaced the use of batteries.

the crystals will run out of juice but they are rechargeable from a source of light. the crystals in the space weapons are the light blue color.

there is other colors but some of them are more unstable and deadly to handled.

in my lore.....Salvekian power crystals are charged manually by the mages in charge of power crystal production and there are tiers of mana saturation within crystals.....those tiers go from 1 to 10 in the Mag scale

there are also 5 further mag levels but those are over saturations of mana and that typically makes the crystal melt into a liquid form and has to be contained in a special container otherwise it will just detonate when exposed to air long enough

the taygon pistols I designed would take Mag's 3 to 5 crystals which typically last for around 25000 shots or 3 days straight sword usage

given the design of the power crystals and the pistols in general......the crystals can be swapped out as needed or replacements or more powerful crystals

the pistols themselves have a set of rails on the upper portion of the barrel with interlock with each other.....the resulting pair makes a handle thick enough for heavy usage and the resulting blade is big enough to be considered great sword sized

my stuff is not really well thought out I just doodle stuff

its a simple story of we need to find more crystals but they are protected by aliens or monsters of some kind. Or someone is using the more deadly crystals to make bombs or some kind of mass destructive weapons.

*nods* that's one of the reasons power crystal production in my lore was done within the Salvekian homeland with no outside harvesting involved.....everything was done within the very place they were charged and created
