The Eagle and the Serpent are classic foils in many mythologies, though variant in their forms. For the most part across most of them, the eagle is depicted as a creature of the air, of high moraliaty and virtue, though lofty in his thoughts, though always striving for what he believes is right. The serpent is of the earth, rational, logical or intellectual pursuits, but envious and wrathful. Red is associated with men, of blood and war, but also of anger. Green is associated with life, but also of jealousy and childishness.
