Rooth this Anthrocon! Each year at AC, I've surprised an artist or staffer with a gift at the con. Rooth was my pick this year. I had a ton of fun coloring this one if you can't tell... blending blue into the cool grays was clearly the right choice!
It really was quite the surprise! And I love the coloring in it. :) Nyomi clearly put a lot of work into this - don't let the chibi cute ridicudorable look trick you into thinking otherwise. She took set some time aside from her busy schedule (we all get busy before a con don't we?), and did this for me, unbidden. I don't think I gave her enough of a thank you at the con. In hindsight, I feel like I might've even been dismissive, but I had time to look at it when I got a breather, and I find it quite the ridicudorable piece it's named as. :)

This is the THIRD badge gift I got this year at AC, tabbiewolf's being one other (she did a bunch of faerie alt-form badges for a bunch of staffers! A BUNCH!), and one from my dear friend Kalira, which was not only completely unexpected, but came with a very nice sentiment as well.
Man, I don't know what I stepped in to be worthy of all these gifts. If it's karma, I'm going to be hit with an overdraft fee here any second now! Though, I did just lose my cell phone to the bowels of base security. And I am Totally Not Ready for TTO. And ... AAAHHH all of the stress. ALL OF IT. So, maybe that's my payback. ;) But it averages out well. 'cause gift art is freakin' amazing, surprise gift art is freakin freakin amazing, and gift art I can wear is just plain AWESOME. ^_^
I'm not usually much of a badge guy, honestly, but I proudly wore this and the other badges a bunch this con. Not all of them all the time, though. I forgot my lanyard, see, and none of my shirts were strong enough to put up with that many badges, zomg.

I normally don't comment on reposts of my work because it tends to seem self-serving, but I figured this calls for it. Just as you recognize I had a busy schedule (as many artists do before a con, even those of us who aren't big names :P), I knew you were busy, too, so don't worry about how you came off as! The fact that the recipients of my gifts tend to remember me after the con is most precious to me because it usually indicates that I made a positive impact on their overall experience. That's the whole idea, after all.
