These are a couple of quick concept sketchy type things I did lastnight for a character I plan to bring into Luthien's story.
Gil-Galad was the high king of Lindon, and one of the keepers of the three Elven Rings of Power. He has a short appearance in the first movie during the battle scene where Sauron is defeated, but I think that part got cut out of the theatrical release, and possibly the extended version as well if memory serves me right.
This was just a way for me to start putting some color ideas down on paper, and to start getting a feel for how I want to draw him, when it comes time. Posting the pictures of the actor as well for comparison. :)

Excellent as always. As a LOTRs fan, I get all excited every time I see you upload something new. You have a wonderful grasp on the design aesthetic and I could see many of your pictures being very close to canon.
