For those of you that don't know, Spirit Force entered into Damian's Tournament in hopes of taking down an evil conspiracy! To keep things from getting too crazy, he has limited himself to only using his fighting style to counter the others that are participating. Should make for interesting matches!
Also, you may have noticed some minor alterations to his costume! I'm deciding to better cement some timeline differences. This is an older Spirit in his early 30's. More mature and far less whiny. Haha
I'll be getting a Spirit in his late teens and early 20's done eventually so you can really see the differences! He's got a new belt for added gadgets and tricks in a fight. He also switched to short shorts for the bottom of his outfit! His insignia has also finally been put into place. Woo!
The "original" outfit is gonna be a bit more retro than this one. Not too sure when I'll have it done. Perhaps next month.
The tournament starts soon, so if you're interested in seeing how the fights go and voting on who you want to win, check them out! I really hope to win, but lasting several rounds is good too. x3

UTILITY BELT - In his early days as Spirit, Fawks felt he had little use for gadgets like the ones he used when he was a sidekick before he had powers. Eventually he realized that he really should not rely on his powers all the time. His utility belt has some basics to help him when in need. Various gas bombs, glue, a solvent, a laser cutter, trackers, acids and explosives in handy capsule form. The belt buckle contains a powerful computer that he can pop off when needed. It is linked to his brother's crime computer and is also the main control for his communications. Some of its features include a camera, inferred scanner and decryption pad on the undersides. Placing it against computers, security key pads or other devices allows Spirit to link up and hack in. Its creation was a combined effort of himself and his brother.
SUIT - For what little fabric he actually does wear, his suit is made up of a synthetic material that is both very stretchy and incredibly resilient. In much the same way as canvas however, should something actually damage it, the structural integrity vs ripping is greatly reduced in that area. No doubt a "feature" his brother came up with. His mask contains special lenses that allow for increased vision at night and are tinted to conceal his eye color. They are also linked to his computer to allow for a limited visual interface. Hidden in his boots and gloves are little tools such as lock picks, scalpels, tweezers, and pliers. He has an ear piece for communications. A common feature in all his suits are his glider wings to allow him to glide through the air.
COLLAR - It is made of out an incredibly steady material that is nearly impossible to cut. The studs contain a tracker as well as a few defensive features to prevent anyone not wearing Spirit's gloves from removing it. Releasing knock-out gas or causing extreme electrical shocks.
Contained within it is the Gem of Hyellia. A powerful artifact that is the source of Spirit's powers. It however does not provide its own energy, forcing the user to power it himself with the strength of his fighting spirit and will power. If he runs out of this “inner engergy” that is sometimes called chakra, or ki, the gem feeds on the physical body of the user which can lead to dire consequences. It takes a lot of training to build up your endurance and know your limits. The gem acts like a lens into the soul and the manifestations of powers vary from user to user depending on the type they are. There are three kinds of Spirit Energy:
Power - Users of power are able to fly and project powerful energy beams. They are able to alter the energy type of the beams as well as how wide, thin and destructive they are. Users also benefit from increased strength and speed. Skilled users are able to turn their pure offense into a defense as well by deflecting and controlling the energies around them.
Defense - Users of this power are able to project a protective aura that they can learn to manipulate in various ways. Extending it, concentrating it and using it as a sort of short ranged telekinesis. Its primary function is protection and on its own greatly reduces kinetic energy. Users senses and reflexes are improved as well and the truly skilled are able to even use this defensive power offensively with the use of simple energy constructs.
Presence - Unlike the other two, there is no visible manifestation of this power. Uses extend their will outward to affect those around them either negatively or positively. They are empathic and can sense the emotions of everyone around them for a short distance. Weak willed beings will cower in fear and suffer from hallucinations while within sight of the user. Truly skilled users even demonstrate the ability to control minds and can selectively affect those in a group.
It has been demonstrated that the types of powers can intermix to various degrees, allowing for a main type and a secondary to be used by one user.
Now fully attuned to Spirit, should the collar be removed or gem somehow extracted, it can be summoned back to Spirit if he's within range and conscious. Prolonged separation from the gem causes the user to go through extreme withdrawal symptoms.
SKILLS - Spirit is an accomplished martial artist. He's an expert at disorientation and using the strength of an opponent against them. He developed a fighting style that utilizes his aura and pressure points in such a way that he can temporarily inhibit his target from using supernatural abilities by shutting down the inner pathways of spirit energy. It's a trick he picked up from popular animes and cartoons which he altered in a way to make it work for him. He possesses basic detective skills that he picked up from his sidekick days. He is also quite good at making little toys or gadgets and being able to hack into computers. He's clever, quick witted and quick on his feet with puns being his specialty. He has been trained in first aid, basic medical care and other skills useful in his line of work.
GEM ABILITIES: DEFENSE WITH OFFENSE SECONDARY
Spirit has learned to master his powers after years of using them. So much so that the appearance has now changed. Instead of the purple energy that flows off him like a fire, it now simply clings to him like a second skin, giving him an ambient purple glow when his aura is active. Much the same way a Green Lantern would glow.
Because of this added degree of control, the power is far less draining on the user. Only taking what's needed when it's needed rather than just expelling it all out once. This allows for a much longer use before having to rest.
Spirit benefits from an innate resistance to mind control thanks to his incredible will power.
SPIRIT AURA - His base ability is primarily a defensive power. It provides protection from physical impacts that would be harmful to the user when active. It can be overwhelmed in certain situations, even if he's focusing on it but it provides a high level of protection from attacks that aren't energy, gas or persistent physical restraint. If the energy is focused to his fists, the strength and speed of his hits are greatly augmented and the protection allows him to punch any surface without harm. If focused to his legs, the same affects apply to them. If so desired he can preform these abilities in quick bursts rather than having them constantly active, being represented and sparks or crackles rather than an intense aura. Because the Aura is a pool of energy rather than being constantly drawn from something, he often has to deiced how he wants to spread the energy out as he can't do everything at one time. If he tries, everything will be at reduced power.
SPIRIT JAUNT - Either while his aura is active or as simple sparks around his feet, Spirit is able to walk, run or leap through the air as if it was a solid surface for him to stand on. What he's really doing is walking on a surface that his aura creates, but it's only as big as his feet unless he makes a construct out of it. This allows him to travel through the air as if it was an odd form of flight. He is able to climb up or travel a flat plane, but is only able to go down by letting himself fall or if he's somehow knocked down. Using this technique, he developed another fighting style that is highly based on surprise and impromptu position changes. One such example is to leap into the air one way, bounce off the air like a wall and then suddenly be kicking in the other direction to catch someone off guard. He can shift positions on the fly and come at you from any angle in this freestyle form of fighting.
CONSTRUCTS - This ability hasn't changed much as it is purely based on what he can imagine and is limited in size by his pool of Aura energy. He is still only able to create simple constructs, which is pretty much anything without complex parts. He often opts to make various force fields to protect against things that his aura would otherwise do little against as it is normally an intangible energy otherwise. Molded into a solid, it is able to resist energy, gasses and create a self contained environment for the user to list a few uses. The strength of the constructs are based on its size and the will of the user. Thicker things are naturally harder to break. Should the construct be shattered, the user will be unable to call upon the lost energy for a time until he can recover. As it is a representation of his spirit and it takes time to heal it when broken. One of the simpler uses is his ability to project it out in lets say the shape of a hand and manipulate objects as if a form of telekinesis.
BRIEF BIO: In his younger days he was a hot shot and quick to jump before looking. Though kind at heart, he let his emotions get the better of him often. He was quick with the insults while on patrol and way too sure of himself and his abilities. His arrogance lead to the death of a dear friend and harm come to others. Combine that with his day to day persona having to he a clumsy geek and his own private self esteem issues, he was having some real self identity problems and lost track of who he was until it finally lead to a break down.
Fawks went off and retrained himself over two years, talking on a different identity before returning to being Spirit Force. He's now the leader of a league of super heroes he has called “The Force of Justice.” He is now in full command of his powers and has learned to get over his more troubling flaws. Though not perfect, he's confidant, brave, bold, still quick with the puns and the insults. His arrogance can still crop up. Sometimes in the form of being self sacrificial, but that stems from his old beliefs that only he could protect his friends. He has learned to give up that need for control and has finally started trusting his comrades to be able to protect themselves.
