shame he does'nt like you. i had a couple boy rats who hated me and wanted nothing but to riop my fingers off. Girl rats are MUCH more loving and snuggly :3

He's almost always out of his cage.

That was actually the problem. He spent so much time out of his cage (even after I told Kiba..) that it caused some social problems, as he saw himself as an 'invader' to the other guys, who were being defensive.

He's also a herder, which doesn't help.

Ironically, my experience is exactly the opposite. Males are much more relaxed and snuggly. Females are very territorial and dislike being handled, fight (violently) over food, and duke it out constantly.
Had three females, six males. Heartwood (above) is the most problematic rat i've had, but now that Kiba gave him to me, i've gotten him under control.

weird. all of my girls were always very sweet. not always snuggly(except my first girl) but always really nice to all humans and mostly to eachother. but my boys were mean to eachother, and to me.
