Edit due to observation: SHE HAS NO EARS! O_=' I may actually work on this one some more (to fix the left side of the drawing) providing the cats don't claw it to death like the other one. I think rather than adding an ear though I'll just layer the hair to make it look like it's in front of the ear...
Oh dear lord. Have you ever been drawing a portrait and you love everything about it but then alluva sudden you look at it again and think.
"Argh! Shoot me now!" >.<
to be optimistic I think I'm getting a grip on smear shading and I -really- like her eyes despite them being wonky. as for that thing covering the mouth? It was meant to be a sleave. Yep, it, along with her right side of hair were neglected purely by accident. I got so caught up with the face itself that when I found I'd forgotten them it was too late (in my mind) to fix the problem so I used my eraser as gingerly as possible and worked them in "properly".
I would normally say who I drew but out of fear of her hunting me down and killing me I think it's best we leave that little part blank. Should she see this, I may get lucky anywho. there is almost no resemblance between inspiration and product. ^_^;
A little observation, if you hold up your hand and block our (all of it) the left side of the picture up to the eye it actually looks fairly decent. Maybe the only fault was I made the head too wide?
This is also one of my first attempts at proper hair so feel free to fire when ready. Advice be it cruel or kind is still welcome.
