Thanks. The way the story characteristics seemed to develop kind of lent itself to Native American legends in the telling.

*bows to the Shaman* Very nice. It may seem a small thing, but I liked the fact that the village was made up of many animals, not simply more cougars. Cooperative diversity makes me happy. :)

As for issues like diversity, they’re as large or small as we make them. For me I didn’t even think about it, it seemed natural that the village would be filled with all kinds of furs. I’m one of those individuals that think if we were just slightly better than we are now such things wouldn’t even be an issue. I also think we’ll get there someday.

It had the feel of a fable..talking about how things used to be but aren't anymore, though maybe you're right about this sort of life being possible in the future.

That was a nice ending to the story. I felt so sorry for Terry that I wanted something to go right for him.

And good job making me feel like I should care about what happened to Terry in such a short story.

Good news then, I’m currently kicking the idea around the chambers of my head of making a longer story with this character. Right now I like where things are going, just need to pick which direction to take it and an ending I’m satisfied with.

I must not have read this before (and here I'm preparing to read the third one). What a neat twist at the end, I can't wait to see where this goes!

Interesting. Entertaining. The concepts are really interesting in this piece and the story is very catching. The main characters believes he has utterly failed, but all sorts out better he had expected in the end. Great short story.

I think you’ll like what you see from this character in future stories. There’s even one in scraps with him involved too.

Is he appearing in the prompts also? Because, the prompt responses are the prose I am reading just now. My goal is to read every single prompt response still available here at FA before Christmas.

If I remember right he's in a few of the upcoming prompts. I was setting myself a challenge of using the same characters for all the prompts but set him aside in hopes of creating a larger story arc around him.

Brutal, but with a surprising twist. Now there is another series from you I can get hooked on.
