I made this after a particularly bad weekend, with a horde of flies attacking both horses and humans. I ended up using up the last bit of artistically usable Sjouke (A Friesian) hair in the process. I ended up using it on him the next weekend to keep the flies off, it works amazingly well...and he was quite happy to have a human chasing the flies off him. Now, if I could just build in a fly spray unit, it would be perfect.

The handle is part of a chopstick and the shaft is wire core. The whole thing is fabric coated with a leather cap on the tip. The beads are copper. The pommel is four wire claws gripping a Tiger's Eye bead.

Once again, no horses were harmed in the making of this piece.
