Kinda reminds me of a short story idea I came up with a long time ago. A guy wakes up and has been kidnapped by aliens and is inside an enclosure. He can see outside at the aliens who are looking into the enclosure but try as he might to get their attention and whatnot and communicate with them but doesn't have any luck. A day or so goes by and another person, a woman is put into the cage. They guess they're in some sort of zoo and are the attraction. They try to come up with a way to escape but seems like they're trapped. Then finally at the end of the story, a giant alien creature emerges from under the ground. Come to find out, the people weren't the attraction, they were the food for the actual attraction.
