The beginning of a new chapter! And also the first we've seen outside the labs since the prologue. Ohlookitscolourful (except Dice, poor bastard).
I'm going to be going to Atomic Lollipop in Toronto, a convention where I'll be selling Grayscale merch along with some fandom merch! (Sherlock, Merlin, Doctor Who, Avatar The Last Airbender/Korra). I'll be posting more info on the merch later, and if I manage to figure out how to sell and ship it online without impeding the updates, I'll do so. Keep posted via the tumblr (linked in the sidebar menu!).

Multiple reasons. Dice is colourblind so it serves as a thematic for his perspective that most things be black and white, colour only serving to isolate him, indicate species (phoenix vs drac), or a switch in perspectives. Multiple metaphorical reasons. Also we just liked that 'gray' has become synonymous with the character Dice for us, and 'scale' applies to Nine as... he's a dragon and scaley. The comic will have sporadic colour that gets more prominent as the comic progresses... which is a reflection of the characters' and story's progression... yup, too many reasons.
Naw, though she has the same hairstyle, Callisto is a short, blonde, ice-eyed BAMF with a track record of pouring battery acid on her cheating boyfriends. The drac behind the counter is named Morgaine and actually has a minor role but she doesn't even really talk in the following scene XD Cal doesn't come up in this story, she's a werewolf and more involved in a bunch of other roleplays Ski and I wrote about XD
I didn't really draw a vanishing point or any perspective lines. I eyeballed the whole thing because I find using vanishing points makes everything much less organic. Vanishing points are a good starting point though, and when it comes to really plainly structured cities or interiors I sometimes still use them.... but very very very rarely because they're a pain in the butt.
