I think I might just take a nap under this tree, really. I'm basically not even making any more excuses; I just don't want to go back home yet. The longer I stay out the worse it'll be when I get back, but whatever.

Ok, but tombdog souls are bound to their bodies when they die. It's how tombdog ancestors ghosts manifest, see, they follow their corpses around. So when a family member dies, they cut apart the body and put the parts in different places so the ghost can hang around family locations.
So if she took this guy's ear as a trophy
