just lithium wouldn't do much - it's kind of a misconception that lithium is a magical fix-all. schizophrenia usually requires a bit more than just that. course, it depends on the severeity and type of the symptoms.
For a minute there I thought Sartre was in that last panel.
Kind of interesting to see what Grey thinks of the place. Until he gets use to and area, he's probably bouncing of of walls and maybe using electric fields to learn the general shape of an area. But with streets that give a general direction of where you can walk before you hit a wall, it greatly easies the burden on Grey.
A city that takes in all the considerations of its citizens (even the disabled) to this extent, quite the city for them to end up on.

The Quiet Room by Lori Schiller is a biography written by someone who has schizophrenia. I had to read it for psychology class when I was in college, and kept it because it was kinda interesting. Not sure if you'd read anything like it before or not, but I thought it might help for the schizo POV.
Also, maybe on this world, Grey will be the one to babysit Kyo.

huh no i have not read that :o mostly when i do my research i go off of the DSM-IV diagnostic criteria for delusional schizophrenia. but yeah the majority of my research was strictly from a medical perspective, and not really a personal one. i've spoken to a few really nice schizophrenic folks but it always seems so crass to be like LET ME ASK YOU HOW IT IS TO SKIP YOUR MEDS so i never do :B
thanks for the reccomendation, i may have to look into it. it's ACTUALLY written by someone with schizophrenia, right? you're not steering me towards Sybil 2.0 are you?

Yup, she's a schizo. But she's taking meds for it now. The book tells of her struggle with it. Have an Amazon.com link: http://www.amazon.com/Quiet-Room-Jo...../dp/0446671339
i realize that now i've placed them at ground level the city looks like every other city except for weird doorways, windows, and hovering signs :<
the real solution is to get them back indoors and possibly several stories up so it can look all cool again. fortunately that was what i was planning all the l ong! it's like somehow i knew i would commit this folly :O magic
