I'm just displaying these because I can. They are both sold to my roommate who demanded them, but I went and stole them back for about 5 minuets to take a few shots, again, sorry for the crappyness.
This forest was the FIRST of these 3D counters I made that got me totally hooked and I'm sad I agreed to sell it to her. The Boros Garrison was maybe the last one I glued and sealed before the con this past weekend, but never made it there. I can't wait to do more Ravnica based lands! :3
- How many cards does it take?
It takes at least 12 cards to be a working abacus, but I like to stick with 14, feels good in the hand and gives a great range of depth.
- How annoying is it to get 14 of the same card?
So far, it's just a little time consuming going through 7 boxes of land that we already have. But we keep them by color so it's not that hard.
- I have man hands and don't want to break it!
Seriously, you could drop the thing on the floor and there should be no problems! Each one weighs less then a D20 (no joke,) and are so rock hard that you could only really maybe scratch the edges and bring out a little of the white underneath the print. Even the design work like branches that hover above the background become very ridged with the glue used. But working the beads could take a little getting use to. One of the cards in your hand makes a great pick.
- How long does each one take?
If I took a guess, maybe 3-5 hours each not counting the drying time. I've not timed myself properly because it's just a hobby I do on the side of other happenings.
- Are you selling them?
Yes, I do sell them at either conventions or on my Etsy shop. http://www.etsy.com/shop/TigressGraphics
- Do you make customs?
Right now this is JUST a hobby and don't plan on taking any direction commissions or on demand orders in the near future. I draw and sew for business now, this is a hobby, I would like to keep loving it. Also, with customs comes the demand for a specific piece of artwork, and that is more then I want to delve into myself.
- What if I have the cards already and want to get a commissions?
Save those and we can talk later on about what I'm doing. I might have you mail me the cards plus a few spares for "oopsies."
- Can you do ANY card?
I will do more then land for sure! BUT! Not ALL cards can be made into 3D objects and make sense.
- Hey, I have a TON of land I was going to toss, do you want it/buy it?
Donations I can't really say no to and would pay the shipping; buying is another matter. You can check with me, but chances are, I'm not looking to acquire more anyway be it donation or buying.
- Have you ever thought about mixing cards?
As in, I take a planes for a background and maybe use a forest in the foreground? Yes, I have thought about doing that, but it can be much harder to do, also I like to make sure the original artist's name is visible, and I would have to splice the background one to the front. I'm an artist. I don't want my name to disappear, so I respect other artists! :D

Annoying, not so much, just time consuming when I have one whole box of land, and my BF has over 5 to sort through. Next, I'm raiding the stashes of my buddies in exchange to make them their own.
And right now, I'm asking $20 each for the ones I have. You can find them on my Etsy as I make them:

You mean foil on the back and sides? I did one Ravanca swamp where I used a shiny version of the car for the very last one and it had an awesome glow :D
Also, mine look very flat and dull because I use a Matte Mod Podge to which I think works out better for details and over all display.

Ahahah! XD It takes about 15 cards with the same artwork, preferably same set to not deal with minor changes they make to size/color, to make one. If you end up finding you have that for some awesome ones, let me know, maybe I'll be in need XD
Hell, this was not something I expected to be so popular XDDD I can't say it is something I will do on request though, I don't want to spend days on end making them and loose the fun of my new TRUE hobby.

Understandable. I have a lot of duplicates of some... old cards, since most of my stuff isn't any newer than 10 years ago. I'm not that into MTG anymore, it was more of a high school phase for me, but I love how these look, and they could certainly be used for other things. Heck, I'd even be stoked to see some without the counters in it, just the 3d art :3
And I wouldn't expect you to, they look like a lot of work, and I know it sucks when fun things become work because so many people are demanding them. I just happened to dig out a lot of my magic cards the other day and was just thinking it would be a good use for them XD
