Here's the first verse of Closer as performed by yours truly. Even the singing. Yes, that's me. Please excuse my shitty Rock Band microphone and my even shittier voice.
Up through the first verse, it's pretty faithful to the original, but starting with the chorus, pretty much only the vocals and drums will sound even remotely like the original song after I'm through with them.... I originally wanted to do a drumstep remix of Closer, but I can't find a good acapella of the original, so I decided "fuck it, I'll just do it all from scratch and call it a cover".
What do you think of it so far? o3o

Nope. I refuse to use autotune to 'fix' my vocals; I'll record a line a thousand times to get it right, idgaf. Although I DO intend to use autotune for ONE LINE of this song: "you make me perfect" (u c wut i did thar?)

As a huge Nine Inch Nails fan I am, and a expert in music I'm not. I had to listen. I think you've been too hard on yourself with the 'shitty' voice, as honestly fooled me for a brief second till I tweaked the difference in vocals; You make it sound more eerie and dissonant, but as it's more easier to listen to with the softer synth touch makes it for something easy to appreciate. I'd love it if were longer though.

^^; Thanks, I really appreciate that... I do intend to re-record the second part of that verse (after "help me") because I kinda clammed up and sung it quieter than I meant to, which took some of the oomph out of my voice.... It'll be longer eventually ;3 And as I said in the description, it's gonna change drastically. What I've posted here so far is really the only part of the song that's faithful to the original x3
:D Thanks, that means a lot coming from you x3 I'm curious what you'll think of the final version; what I've posted here is the only part of my cover that will be entirely faithful to the original, and the rest is ideas I originally wanted to use in a remix with Reznor's vocals... but I couldn't find an acapella anywhere xD
