If I remember right the first thing that anthro Polaris did after this was payback nom Viktor, which was a poor idea of his at best. Making it so that Viktor could like eating Eevee's again, if only Polaris had known about his grand mother cursing Viktor.
So I guess that in a way Polaris was not really the only one to melt, at least later on after he reformed. Having his arms inside Viktor makes getting back out highly unlikely for him.
