I've found getting backpacks second hand from ex military guys always works wonders. £20 for the bergen, 2 rocket pouches, and a yoke. A bit faded, but all the seems and fabric are still good! Bargain!

I've still got my dad's military surplus bag. From the original writing, it seems to have been issued to a colonel Dan in 1952. Looks like my dad got it in 68. It's seen use since my dad got it so it's a sturdy bag. Only problem is the squished shoulder padding.
