You'll have to wait for Buckhopper's exciting write up that goes along with this, I'm afraid, so you'll have to be content to enjoy the image on its own, if you do. I think this has been the piece I'm most proud of so far.

Such grace: The pose, the flow, the sheer elegance of Healey as he soars through the air. Whereas Masters is clumsy and unbalanced, like he didn't get a good jump. He probably didn't have much time to gather himself, as one second Davis is at the arc, the next he's at the cup and Masters probably had a split second to decide whether to jump or not. Looks like he might regret his decision.
Such dignity: Look at those eyes in the facing forward shot. He's got pride, integrity, and a competitive fire. Never have I seen one portrait read so many powerful emotions and attributes of a character that I've never even seen before.
Such power: The mood in this piece reminds me of any number of epic sports movies. 'Field of Dreams'. 'He Got Game.' Just the lights, together with the pose and the character shot in the corner make this look like a promotional poster for a movie about the majesty and drive of the the greatest figure in furry basketball history.
Also look how HIGH he is! I didn't see the floor immediately, but he's at least 7 feet in the air, since Davis is 6'6"! I think some furs getting chest or even waist level with the rim for some crazy NBA JAM style throwdowns is not out of the question!
Finally, a strange comment, but the NBA counterpart that this pic reminds me of is not Michael Jordan, but LaPhonso Ellis, a guy who played for the Denver Nuggets in the 90s. (wore #20). The color scheme of the jersey really reminded me of it (though it's the lighting. Nuggets jerseys back then were navy blue and dark gold, not black and orange). Just a strange subliminal reference.
Fantastic job! ^^

There's a reason for that: at the time, Jake is 35 years old and he's clearly lost a step or two defensively. Not many on the Minutemen can stand up to Healey without fouling him, so Jake took it on himself to try.
This happens more often than not, though.
