"I made these for the fun of it, and it's only tangentially Furry because the lenses have dragon eyes... Heh.
I started with a pair of vintage forties goggles in minty condition (yes, I'm sure anyone into motoring antiques are going to CRINGE), painted them with lovely gold-tone paint, being careful of the bakelite frames. I love that funky brown, so I tried to leave it alone as much as possible. Then, I wired in antique pocket-watch parts, a watchmaker's magnifying lens, a glass eye from an old plush toy, a brass filigree dangle, a glass domed light-cover, some gears, a neat brass owl and some gold-coloured chain. The insane hologram lenses are from an old set of sunglasses I had for years.
The only things holding this together are glue, wire and love.
These were a lot of fun to make and I wore them to the Disney Invasion and had a blast. Blew my mind when complete strangers kept approaching me to check out my gogs. They loved 'em! >^__^< "
