So this started as a fun fantasy portrait of a bunch of my choir friends.
However, it has taken on a life of its own and is fast becoming a novel which will be the first of several called The Whispering Earth (the full title will be "Songs of Khamali: The Whispering Earth"). I'm fairly certain some anthro creature will appear in one of the novels. I may not be active in the fandom much anymore, but i still love anthro characters. Always will.
The middle lady with the halo is Sophene (the character representing me). Every character is based off of someone I know, but I wont list them all unless someone wants me to.
Here's the prologue from my book for anyone who is interested:
````````
[Prelude]
There was a time when one could scarcely walk through
the forests of Mesik-Onyil without hearing the distant yet
shimmering voices of the elves rising together in magnificent
harmony. Any who were near enough to the Elvin cities could
feel the Electricity, like a physical being, in the air. Her fingers
would move over them like sparks across their skin and into
their very veins.
It was a time when each creature's soul knew, to its core,
that they were a part of the world's song and heard the earth's
symphony in everything around them. The wind would crescendo
through the trees and the waves would beat against the shore
like a sounding drum; Nature's heartbeat.
What then has become of this once magical land?
The Elvin voices have gone silent. The heartbeat of the earth
is now ignored, replaced with the empty darkness of abandoned
songs.
Yet…
…As I sit by the waters I still hear the waves taping their
endless rhythm. I close my eyes as the leaves rustle softly and
I can't help but ask; is the power we once knew as well as we
know to draw a breath truly dead?
Or…
…Has her song simply reached a pianissimo?
