I've refined this a lot since the photo was taken, but here is a WIP of a canine sculpt I'm working on to take resin casts from :D If it works out I want to do a feline version toooooo~

Just bog standard clay haha, nothing special. It'll probably be annoying to get out of the mould but I'll work it out of all the nooks and crannies :)

Sure :D I have more than enough clay for another sculpt so once my polystyrene head is free I can make feline ones :)

That's nice of you thanks, but it's easier to work on a human head base as it's a mask designed to be worn by a human :)

It's alright thank you, I'll pass as I just like working this way xD I find it easier to visualise and create a more natural shape (yet still in my style) working on a human form head base. Plus 21.5 is really tiny, I'm working on a 24" head form at the moment.

Lololol, I'll put up more pictures once I have casts sussed ;) If they're successful I whip up an example of what they look like finished and then offer casts for sale ^^

How much would you concider charging to make a fursuit head from one of these casts? *curious*

I'm not sure yet, I'll need to work out costs including resin and stuff. The resin is pretty costly, but I think it would probably be around the same as my normal heads, base price £175 for one colour then up from there~ Will depend on how time consuming it is too.

I miss being able to work with clay, its been years, like not since secondary school.

I haven't used it in forever either but we had a workshop in it last week and I decided to use my left over clay for this! It's great fun, but taking a lot of work to get a decent mould. It's painfully expensive too, using silicone, so it had best work D:

I can imagine, at-least when you're using it there was no chance of a razor blade in there. I had a lovely school.

I've been itching to buy myself a bag of clay ever since I moved out o:
My dad used to sculpt loads of things when we were younger... really surreal stuff xD

It's really relaxing to sculpt with! I love working with Sculpey or other polymer clays but there's something really soothing about working with proper clay.
