this looks like it's going to be very beautiful when you're done. out of curiosity, do you use a needlefelting technique to add fluff to the (i'm assuming) yarn "base" of the tail?

It's super fluffy and soft. Only if you spend a lot of time on it! A tail is supposably supposed to have 200-300 tufts of yarn but if you want it really nice its twice that.
