Like a Phoenix, falling from the sky!
Though while the re-entree is the most jaw dropping thing on this page, the amount of Bubbles that make up the city is the oddest and also a interesting point as well.
I'm sure that current building contractors if they saw this city would have kittens or full blown cows in reaction to seeing it. The people of this world must be fairly advance to make architecture like this that works.

Space Plane Re-entry: Noise and fire is right, and probably more accurate than flailing streams of blue-white energy used in anime'.
Bubble Domes/Retro Future Architecture: Why not? Given abundant energy, extremely complex and ingenious building materials, and thousands of years of design experience, some planet somewhere has this.
