In case you didn't notice, there were apostrophes around the word 'heart', indicating I was referring to the person's soul, aura, and personality, not the actual heart itself. They begin associating pleasant emotions of being around that person with the person's face and smell (as well as small quirks of the person's like the way they smile awkwardly) and it soon becomes a sort of obsession or infatuation. Love isn't a trick and it's not the reason why people reproduce. You can love multiple people in different ways. You love your siblings and parents but you don't want to mate with them do you? No. Love has nothing to do with motivating people, or anthros for that matter, to mate. It's lust, which is a physical attraction to someone.
I mistook you for being FriskyWoods at first :V So I went a little farther into my argument than I would've had I realized you weren't the same person I replied to as before xD But I still stand by what I said, Love can be a function of the brain.

But you're falling in love with the person, not the body.

You make it sound so easy to distinguish between the two! So many people think they've found "true love," only to discover that what they had was a mere passing fancy. Even worse, sometimes they discover that the love of their life was manipulative and abusive. My brother used to write love letters to his high school sweetheart, missives he would surely find embarrassing after discovering what a selfish, scheming, and utterly horrible person she was. It works the other way, of course... I've had female relatives who were locked into relationships with men who beat them... a destructive habit that was only broken by divorce or a taste of their own medicine.
I've heard it so many times before... "oh, this is the man for me," or "we'll be together forever!" Most of that "undying love" goes down in flames in a matter of years, sometimes less. I maintain that the strong feelings between two partners are biological bait; an enticement used to bring two genetically compatible persons together for the purpose of procreation. The fact that you think it's something more is only a testament to its extreme effectiveness.

Okay, let me soften it a bit. I believe you're trying to find greater depth in a biological function with one clear purpose: procreation. It's human nature to expand the meaning of life and the universe, so there's nothing wrong with your behavior. I just personally think that people see the fantastic and the significant where it doesn't exist.
I have nothing against you, and I regret that my words were overly harsh. Our opinions clearly differ on this subject, however, and it's not likely we'll see eye to eye on it.

I understand that in reality things aren't really as great as we like to think they are. If you look at life itself it seems pointless. We study hard to work hard to relax in old age where we are no longer young or strong enough to do the things we always wanted to do and then it all comes to an end and we are forgotten eventually.
Life's too short to take seriously though, you can either look at everything as a curse, or you can look at it as a miracle. I like to find the extraordinary half in everything whether it's technically real or not. Love is a beautiful thing, even if it is only a chemical reaction in the brain. What is going to last after we're gone are the things we discover, the people we touch, and the memories they pass on. I'm not going to spend this one life I have looking at things in a manner that takes all the magic out of it, I'm going to see things in a way that makes me happy, that makes it look like this life is actually worth living. If everything is chemical processes and human instincts, what's so special about it? We might as well drop dead if it's that simple.
But that's just my opinion.
I was getting too worked up early about our conflicting opinions, I apologize. You're entitled to your way of seeing things just as I am mine.

uh oh, I hope this isn't what I'm getting a feeling it is D: Negative side effects of the regression dreams? She got so upset about that kid bullying the other kid, she forgot she's an adult in person when she threw that ball! And now she still doesn't understand she did so very wrongly in attacking the kid. The aftermath of something like throwing a ball at another kid would be a lot less dramatic if you were actually the size of the kid.
And now she's back to being short tempered and sensitive about receiving help because of that bad dream...

With all due respect to the real Gem, who is an awesome wonderful person, I would slap the comic version of her right now, simply because slapping someone you care about is something you do when you need to make them realize they crossed a line. If that's the correct reaction I'm supposed to have, you're doing an excellent job so far, Gem. Great comic!
it depends what colour you're using for the multiple layer but basically i use a semi dark pink for all of teh shading, the shading being above the coloured layer. i dont really know how to describe what multiply actually does even after all these years of using it lol sorry thats not a very useful answer
