More MH related doodles, because
Purrclops and
katzbalger invited me to a couple of MH3 sessions recently, and I've been having tons of fun.
To explain for people who don't play MH:
On the left, Amago is wearing a "Ludroth Cap", a helmet that looks like it has a pair of goggles and a funky anime hairdo. While playing with Katz (Who was playing as Amago), she declared that she was Naruto because of her hairdo and orange outfit (Ludroth armor is typically yellow-orange).
On the top right, this is something that happens a lot in any MH game. Players aren't damaged by each others' weapons, but knockback still applies, leading to rage and hilarity when someone tosses you up in the air with their hammer, or knocks you over with their longsword. I'm now curious: Is it possible for a player to knock someone off of a cliff into another zone of the world they're in? (The shortcut from area 8 to area 5 in Deserted Island, for instance). Because that would be amazing. Something I'll have to try for science.
On the bottom right is an observation I made while playing with Purrclops and Katz a couple days ago. Ludroth armor is, as the name suggests, armor made from Ludroths, aquatic creatures with spongy scales on their back so they can breathe even when they're not in water. Considering you're basically wearing an outfit made entirely of sponges, going for a swim in the ocean or swamp doesn't exactly seem like the best idea, as Chaz has found out.
These were just some quick doodles, hope this gets a couple giggles at least :D

I love games like Monster Hunter Tri. I'm sure there's a general name for that type of game, other games like Phantasy Star Online and Lost Planet follow a similar format, cooperative games where you explore various areas, not everything is the same (Enemies, items or even the layout of the world itself could be randomised slightly), and you can replay each area as many times as you please.
There have been a few games that are like that, but they don't appear to have a collective genre other than 3rd Person Adventure game. XD
But yeah, games of MH's ilk tend to be the best for incidental humour, you never know what sort of shenanigans might happen out there. Sometimes stuff happens that inspires me to do a little doodle as a memento. XD
