Hey, you know my fursona, Ray Ishi, the fur dragon? Well I have chosen to explain why I made him. He is a dragon, but he is a new species of dragon I have created for the Fur fandom. He is a species of dragon of what I call like to call a Yammaruke, (Ya-ma-ruke). I went ahead and made an anthro of a Yammaruke. (The one I am using), but I have not made a feral version of the Yammaruke Dragon just yet. Right now I'm on the point of drawing one out, but won't get to till after I am done with the request I have tasked myself to do.
Here is a small info of my creation of this dragon, but I still have to put more details in the next journal update. So far it's a working progress.
The Yammarukes:
Yammarukes are dragons that have the appearance of a mammal, the males are a bit bigger then the females, but height wise they are around the same. Both of which are around the size of two people. Yammarukes have fur instead of scales, but like scales their bones are as hard as steel that can crush stone like it was nothing. The Yammarukes are omnivore. They can eat roughly 6 more meals than a human being. They are considered non-mammal so they "CANNOT" produce mike. Instead, Yammarukes are warm blooded, wingless dragons that prefer to nest inside of caves.
Male/Female Yammarukes
Female Yammarukes:
The female Yammarukes have shorter tails and horns than the males. Females are more calm and has a sharp mind to sense upcoming danger. Female Yammarukes are very picky on selecting a mate and living in an environment she might find suitable for living. Females have firm, yet sleek bodies that easily attracts attention. More specifically, males of the Yammaruke. Obviously fights tend to break out between males wishing to woo the fem dragons interest. Depending on the female, the fem dragons may run away or stay and wait until the victor is decided.
The female Yammaruke can give birth in her belly like a female mammal that becomes pregnant. The female Yammaruke can at will lay her egg for the male to watch. Allowing the fem dragon to leave the nest to feed herself after the male has fed himself. Once the female returns to the nest with her mate, she then can put her egg back inside her till eventually her egg hatches. Giving birth to a new born young-ling
Male Yammarukes:
The male Yammaruke are more aggressive then females. Males tend to fight to prove who is more dominant. Males are very protective of their mates. Although timid, they are very strong minded and not as picky to their female counterparts.
Mating:
As stated before, the male Yammarukes tend to fight for a female mate till one male is decided. The females leave the mating process entirely up to the male. Resulting in fierce competition for a mate. If males need encouragement to seek out a mate, the female gives off a strong scent that affects the hormones of a male. Resulting in the need to mate. Which of course results in more competition as multiple males pick up her scent at once. If a male is lucky to find a female with no competing male present, the male will then try to perform a mating act in an attempt to impress her. If she is unphased by the males attempt to woo her, the chance of mating are slim.
The Infant Yammaruke dragon:
kind like all infant dragons they are taken care of by a mother and father. The infant Yammaruke dragon are very playful little ones with different personalities and fur coloring. Their behavior are completely at random depends on what influence and/or Scars them. The infant males look after their Father and sometimes tries to mimic their father. as the females infant learns from their mother. They some times it can go vice vesra as they grow up. Once the male or female reach to an age the father or mother will take their young out for a hunting lesson. Later eventually their young will go on their own and live some where else, some will live with their siblings like a small pack. Younger male and female Yamarukes sometime live in as a pack but they leave the pack after they once find a mate or they just stay with the pack with their mates.
Yammaruke lore:
There what once said to be two dragons. those Two that were known as a flightless fur dragon called a Yammaruke. there was a female named Salmia she was a large dragon with a white fur coat that gliters like star lights in the night sky. Than really large Male with a body that look extreamly firm but his mite is so powerful that he can destroy mountains. The two dragon Were very much in love with each other, they have lived e-ons together as they made a large family. Salmia the mother learned how to take care her young, as the Father has tought his young how to hunt. Their young has learned everything what their parents has show them that all of the younger Yammarukes has left to being an new. As for now the two Yammarukes that have took care of their young has liveded their very lives to the end as they hope for their young to live good lives from the time they past away.
Yammaruke Sexuality:
Yammarukes are usually male with female. But there are cases of males taking no interest of a scent of a female. (Even if the chances are highly unlikely) And, there are instances of female taking no interest in a male. Yammarukes can be either Bisexual, or Homosexual for each gender. If a female takes interests in another female. The sharing of scents will signify their mate ship. For a male wishing to mate with a member of his own sex, the male will attempt to rub his head on a male of interest. If the other accepts the invitation. They are bonded as mates and thus will allow the act of mating to commence.
