Yeah...this might become a post apocalyptic persona from me/for me. I absolutely adore this gasmask. And it is indeed useable with standart NATO-gasmask filters =D

After all these years I still have the mask. It's a generation 1 jackal mask made by WildGasmasks, dunno if they got a orofile here but they do have a website where you could order your own!

Woh! If it's in great shape that's quality! Being able to use 40mm kicks ass, I'm mega sad I didn't nab a 40mm to 40 GHOST adapter for east European masks.
I have a few regular gas masks but i think retrofitting them would be a lot harder, or just look outrageous trying to make them furry or something. I'd want it to fit the military surplus vibe, not "oh someone's into that" lol. Cuz i got the very popular model gas mask people love, the MSA millennium. Along with a Czech m10m, and an Israeli 4A1 civil and a M15 mil model (idk if i touched them in 4 years). I don't use the maskes except the MSA when painting and cleaning because of the RX glasses insert but rarely. Putting stickers or taking paint markers to the black out shield still feels I'm hiding a "gas mask kink" if i did that hah, even if i drew silly shark teeth or an aeromorph on it.

Aww it wasn't that long, only 4 days! I actually don't check in here to often x)
But yeah, I dunno why I did it back then, but it's the regular camo of our army so I probably figured someone might eventually search for the tag and...here we are xD
The jackal is almost fully custom made with only plastic parts of other gas masks used in the process, as far as I know.
For funsies I once tested it in our gas mask test chamber (I'm with the EU civil protection service) and it did pretty well! I could technically wear it on duty - though the ears and snout wouldn't work well with the gear.

Hah, nah i meant the post is 12 years old and you replied in 4 days. I've commented on a ton of stuff but rarely get replies from older posts.
I mean it's a cool photo! You do it cuz it's a good idea. I think it turned out good, and oh yeah i have a ton of flecktarn stuff. Use to be cheap as fuck (18 USD for the parkas) but not so much anymore, i love the cut and fit of the uniform besides the camo. I have a love for our M65 field jacket system but a bit bulky even in multiple sizes (small is good but tight with more than a hoodie, can't button in the liner. but a medium is huge without the liner.) But great for everyday wear, i have a few parkas, a parka liner, pants and field shirt. Shout out to the older blue/navy pt uniform lol
And the website still makes them! Only a few models and I'm not a horse gear dood, but still cool. Also wtf you can test masks in a chamber? Damn don't have that here, and yeah the ears miiiiight not pass helmet inspection.
I'm not a gear guy because it's hard to store, takes up a lot of space, and i can't really use it. I have too many rucksacks for example, i couldn't find one that wasn't awkward or too small/big for the job. I have a few US packs, flecktarn haversack for a camera bag, old-school GR mountain ruck and the 80L flecktarn ruck. Those are for big boy vacations, but i only have those gask masks. I think the PBF mask is dope, the sov pig mask. But mostly filters are a bust for me, i want the sas British gas mask but last i saw a complete mask. It was over 200 usd I think, at least over 150. And yeah i only know the older m65 drager mask, they use to be 20 bucks lmao.

But I've been collecting military surplus for like 10 years, it's part of my wardrobe etc. so ofc had the idea a while, scanned through every camo and hit me. Tropentarn! But would it fit something or am i gunna have like a DPM lizard, but spotted hyena was fitting. Sticks to the natural irl coloring of the species, and the dots match. If you look really closely, you can see it's overlayed exactly like the irl patter because im a loser lol. Sand base, with green over tan. I didn't have accent colors but omg i got to color match and fit flecktarn in there. Orange hair is the red, tongue is yellow, flesh/paw pads/ "bits" slate grey, claws the black, and ears the green of flecktarn. Her bottom lip is a deep deep purple, everyone uses black for thicc bottom lip. Ain't about that, I build her to avoid hyena stairotypes. I just like big hair and gingers, but not fire truck red hair or grey body hah.
If you have a sona we can get art, not even soliciting. If I'm okay to assume you are german/ in the german army. It'd be funny!

Bundeswehr gear somehow always used to be cheap af until some years ago. Apparently they had a whole bunch of overproduction that was sorted out and sold very cheap I guess.
I myself prefer Multicamo by now but it's not covered by the government regulations for gear so I'm very limited in using it for official gear. Mostly we wear black, red and blue emergency Service gear anyway.
I didn't check in Wildgasmasks for some years, I thought they were doing a couple of models by now D:
Well, you might look around, some people sell their jackals after a while.
And yeah it's pretty much a mannequin in a gas chamber who got a bunch of sensors around it and inside eyes, mouth and nose. The chamber is filled with a gas and the sensors pick up wether or not there's gas and/or what gasses get through the mask. Pretty nifty.
I got my gear stored in the cellar, mostly. And what I need regulary I got in my car. Though I only got little gear beside what I need for my job, actually.
Gas masks are just a spleen I guess xD
Well let's just say I got a thing for buff hyena milfs :x
Though I actually didn't realize she had the camo pattern and colors!! That's pretty cool!!
Of course I got a fursona! You might find lots of art of him in my gallery, ranging from safe to brutal to...very not safe :P

I'm german, but not part of the army. I'm in a search and rescue task force of the federal civil protection service as well as part of the management task force of the EU civil protection mechanism.
Which is a mostly civilian job. x)
