Jasper Bullworth and Remy LaRoux came from 2 schools that had never played each other: Whattsamatta U. out of Frostbite Falls, MN and Acadiana out of Thibadeaux, LA. On top of that, that had only been practicing for about a week for the Gibtown Showmen. For Jasper "The Bull Moose" Bullworth, their first game was not only going to kick off Showmen's College Tour, but be a homecoming for him as well as they were playing Whattsamatta in their beloved Jim Bullwinkle Fieldhouse. When the game tipped off, the Showmen started with a solid 6-0 run led by veteran badger "Slammin'" Duncan Riley who had been on the team since graduating from Underwood College in 2002. Soon though, the Maroons caught onto Gibtown's game plan and mounted a comeback. With 2 and 1/2 minutes left in the first half, The Maroons were up 38-30 mainly due to foul trouble, Gibtown's grizzly bear coach told Remy and Jasper to go in, which sparked a standing ovation from the entire fieldhouse. Whattsamatta's hare guard Jeremy Hutch went for the cross-court pass, facing a double-team from Riley and ferret George Griswald, only to have it intercepted when Jasper headbutted the ball in mid-air, only to have it land right into Remy's paws for an easy fast-break! At the half, Whattsamatta still led 38-34.
After listening to the coach's halftime speech, Remy went over to Jasper, asking "How in da hell did dat headbutt not hurt ya?" Jasper then replied, "Back when I was a calf, I used to play soccer, but was too slow for varsity. I've always had a strong skull though, and an accuarate one as long as the ball gets between my antlers!" Remy then raised an eyebrow in astonishment, then said, "Dat gives me an idea!" Just then, the buzzer sounded, indicating that it was time to return to the floor, "I'll tell ya on da bench!"
10 minutes went by in the second half, as the Showmen were able to hold it close, but still down 65-61 when the coach called timeout. During the timeout, he decided to send Remy and Jasper back in, remembering what the two did at the end of the first half. Griswald threw a football pass to Remy, but he was met with two defending Maroons. Seeing Jasper open, he shouted "Bonk-Shot!" to him. He then threw a bullet pass to Jasper, who then lept up into the air and headbutted the ball off the backboard, then in for two points. Throughout much of the remaining half, they continued the same strategy. One shot was even behind the 3-point arc, though Jasper had never made a 3-point basket in his college career. As the final horn sounded, the Showmen had come from behind to blow out the Maroons 104-86.
