Why I skipped Fable 3

I meant to draw this ages ago and after hearing about how Rage ends I figured I may as well go ahead and do it.
Basically, back in the olden days when the Xbox was still current gen I got a copy of the PC version of Fable: The Lost Chapters. That game was, and continues to be, one of my favorite titles. The setting was unique, the characters had a lot of personality, and Jack of Blades was one hell of a villian, especially in combat.
For those of you who never played the Lost Chapters you basically fight Jack of Blades again in his true form... a gigantic red dragon. This battle was -epic-. You really felt like you were going up against some immense powerful monster that could destroy the entire world in one go, moreso by the whole over-the-shoulder viewpoint the game had, and the end where you defeat it was very satisfying to me.
So, naturally, after that I jumped on the chance to get Fable 2 once I got a 360. At the end of it the villian, a madman named Lucien, captures your three companions and drains their powers to gain control over a device called the Spire, which could grant any wish. After the first game I expected to have to fight a super-powered Lucien who could match my hero move for move using the abilities of strength, skill, and will to their utmost.
... instead... YOU USE YOUR FREAKING DEUS EX MACHINA MUSIC BOX TO DRAIN THE POWER RIGHT OUT OF HIM AND THEN HE RANTS AT YOU UNTIL YOU PULL OUT YOUR WEAPON AND STAB OR SHOOT HIM, THEN HE DROPS LIKE A SACK OF BRICKS! THATS IT! GAME OVER! A WINRAR IS YOU! THAT WAS WORTH PAYING FIFTY BUCKS FOR WASN'T IT BOYS AND GIRLS?! O_<
To add insult to injury Ripper, the bisexual (yes its cannon) dashing-rogue pirate guy will, should you wait too long, pull out his own gun, pop Lucien in the head, and then say "Oh? Did you want to do that? I thought he'd never shut up...".
So yeah. All that buildup, all that suspense, almost getting killed by Lucien twice in the main story mode... and boom, end. No final boss, no massive climactic battle between the hero seeking vengeance for his sister's murder and all the men and women who died to build the spire against a madman bent on world domination... just [Press Y to Save the World].
To any game developer who makes an ending like this... I HOPE YOU DIE IN A FIRE! >_@ (Spoiler alert: Rage ends like this)
Maybe Fable 3 ended like this, maybe not, to be honest I didn't give a shit. After that ending the series can go hang for all I care.

Fable 3 final boss dies when you step on him accidentally walking along the road halfway through the game?
Personally, I think they overdid the first one. I mean once you've slain a dragon atop a volcano what else is there? ._.
In space.
