For anyone who works in retail, mastering this trick will make your life a HELL of a lot easier. Any time you get one of the following:
- A co-worker who nags the hell out of everyone and thinks they're suddenly the boss just because.
- A customer who thinks he can do your job better than you and won't shut up about it.
- Any drunk whatsoever.
... or someone along those lines, just learn to filter out whatever they're saying. For me, I switch into 'yappy dog' mode with my ears. Basically I treat whatever comes out of their mouth as meaningless noise, akin to the kind made by those small poodles or terriers who bark at anything and everything that makes a slight movement in their presence.
