Dragon of the Sea
Oh Dragon of the Sea,
Heart is pure as the clearest bay,
Fly through lake, river, and ocean as if one would air,
Do not let the hindrance of island or continent slow your freedom.
Oh Dragon of the Sea,
Do not weep for tears of sorrow,
for all shall swim free.
Do not let sorrow touch your pure heart for none will bear to see it.
Do not cry for those who have gone,
Oh Dragon of the Sea,
always put purpose to stroke, and paddle.
Let the memory of fallen give you strength to
swim faster and longer than those who've died before you.
Oh Dragon of the Sea,
your time has come.
We stand on shore and watch the waves,
for you are nevermore.
Oh Dragon of the Sea,
you've left us young,
and thus we weep,
standing on the shore.
Oh Dragon of the Sea,
may your spirit swim on strong,
eternal in memory.
Let our tears wash into lake, and river, and sea,
so that your spirit shall know comfort,
of those who wait on the shore.
you will live on,
in heart and mind,
in body and soul.
You shall never die as long as we remember you.
Forever swim on...
oh Dragon of the Sea.
I have to say, I have never personally met
Athus but after hearing what happened and that he's gone. Andreas and I felt my sympathies must be said to those who cared more for this poor soul. It wasn't till we read some into Athus that it clicked who he was(I've been watching Narse and I've stumbled on Athus's page here and there). The icing on the cake that brought me to tears was one comment on the site for Athus --> http://athusnadorian.com/ <--- and seeing he was more of a spiritual person with the dragon who represented him...it dawned on me that (and whether true or not) he was more akin to the water dragon that represented him than just a persona.
My heart goes out to the water dragon who has lost his partner. As I care for mine and treat him as brother the thought of losing him or him losing me brought rare tears to me.
Sad thing for a water dragon to cry, it breaks hearts to see the most gentle and loving of all breeds reduced to grief.
I was browsing the art to see if anything had been done yet, to which I came across
Lindserton 's piece http://athusnadorian.com/ this poem just came to me...and so I share it to you all...
So, goodbye
Athus I doubt you'll be forgotten, and because of that you will never truly be dead. Rest well oh Dragon of the Sea....
