*offers a ferret hug* I can sort of relate to what you are currently feeling (but not nearly as bad) as I used to be a camp counselor at a boy scout camp, and I've had to help find several lost campers. It's one of the most heart sinking feelings I know.

At the beginning of this year my 16 year old niece went missing. Thankfully she was found safe. I know that cannot compare to a little one being taken, but having gone through that earlier this year I did find a few very helpful resources.

What is your relation to her? (Just curious) - I REALLY hope she is found, have there been forensic teams with police dogs? I know rescue dogs can track scents, but if they drive away, that would be hard to follow... People stealing babies... wtf is this world coming to...

My aunt's husband's, brother's niece. My aunt is sister to my mom. She a bit down from me as far as family line But I am close friends with my aunt and her husband's brother Steve and while I hadn't gotten the chance to meet Lisa yet I hope I will soon :(

Seeing my aunt and Steve so upset just rattles me to the bone and makes me sick. They know Jeremy and Deb very well (the parents of lisa) and I just want everything to work out.

I live just 15 minutes from where the baby lived and was kidnapped (I would have lived just down the street had I not moved in March). I don't understand how anyone could look a child, especially a baby, in the face and then take them like that. It's sick.

It's very sick, and gosh that is really close. Bet you might of been seeing the police helicopters and vans and such being that close.

This sounds a bit similar to a kidnapping here in British Columbia about a month ago; the child was about three years of age, and went missing for four days. It's said his abductor returned him home, safe, sound, and unharmed, although the poor boy is traumatised by the event, which is unsurprising to say the least. The kidnapper was captured near the Alberta border. This was also believed to be the longest Amber Alert in BC history, as generally they last approximately 2-4 hours usually.

Here's hoping Lisa will return home safe and sound as well. :)

all over my facebook already...niece of a friend... absolutely IRATE they cancelled the Amber Alert!! Most people assume when an Amber Alert is cancelled it means the child has been found... that isn't always the case.

I know :( and now it's left up to all of us to make the difference

Her case was finally announced here in Alaska, though the "parents refuse to work with detectives" line threw people for a loop here

Actually this morning the parents made an official statement on good morning america they have always been cooperating with the police and don't know why the police would say such things.

mhm. we've pretty much exhausted every thing around here. sadly media is more concerned on starting drama with the parents then actually helping find the child. So it's left up to random groups because police have stopped land searches and have closed down the command post. They are only doing investigations as of right now.
