BR Standard 9F 2-10-0 no. 92212 powers away from Highley station with a southbound train during the Severn Valley Railway's Autumn Steam Gala. This class of locomotive was one of the most powerful ever built for British use, and as such dealt fairly dismissively with anything it had to handle during the gala.

Well, it was a freight locomotive for the most part, and in fact one of these holds the record for the heaviest load ever hauled by a steam loco in Britain: over 2,000 tons. However, because it was so powerful it was also not by any means slow, and it was quite capable of pulling express passenger trains. One of these was once timed at over 90 mph during a service from Grantham to King's Cross. =:)
