...It's Gryphon C country!
A bit of a backstory with this one. For those of you who don't read my comic, in the continuity the Gryphon race is actually split into three types (clumsily labeled A, B, and C) A's are biped two legged types are are the least common, where as B are 4 legged and about the size of lions...but overall pretty smart and friendly. Then you got the C's...which are gigantic and about as smart as a bag of bricks. The giant ones also tend to be pretty aggressive and territorial...the only exception is they don't attack other gryphons. But even then mistakes tend to happen.
As for the comic, the lil brown guy isn't actually a gryphon but a spellcaster who felt he was being quite clever using a simple disguise spell to make himself look like a Gryphon. Of course, as he finds out, just because the C's are dumb, it can take a bit more than simply changing your looks to really fool one. (Odds are he was talking not in Gryphon and the big guy pounced faster than it could think) Luckily he's got enough magic tricks up his er...hat...so he'll be fine. And once his orange friend stops laughing odds are he'll give him some better tips.

This was/is a commission for
ArchTeryx who was nice enough to commission me at Anthrocon and even nicer to put up with my super-slow self in getting things done. It was pretty fun, and the Tom/Jerry physics amuse me. (And I cannot deny that it may have been a partial inspiration for the colour choices of the two) My only real regret is not doing even more sequences...but part of me realized if left to my own devices I'd likely have ended up with a 3 page montage just setting things up.
