One of my better rabbiteering photos from a rather frustrating day at a spot I've had luck at in the past. If you simply give a quick glance at this picture, you may well only see the rabbit in the foreground, and wonder why I've cropped the photo as I have. Look again, though, and you'll see a companion keeping an eye on things from the edge of the bushes. Real Owsla teamwork there!

As it happens, I actually spotted the rearmost rabbit first. I think it's because he's a little bit brighter than his companion, or maybe it was just luck. Either way, it's a lovely picture and, as I'm sure I've said before, I really like your rabbit photos. It's nice to see pictures that show them going about their daily lives and which don't try to cutesy them up. As alert as these rabbits are, it must have take quite a bit of time, and stealth, to keep them from noticing you and bolting, too.
Thanks! I must admit that some of the rabbits in my photos do look pretty cute, especially the youngsters in spring -- but then that's all their own work! As for this one, it wasn't as tricky as it looks, as there's a handily placed bramble bush I can stand behind then aim the camera lens through a gap between branches. There's actually a public footpath right across this field, but it doesn't really go anywhere so it's overgrown and very rarely used. The thing that does stop rabbiteering is when there are horses in the field, since although the rabbits themselves generally don't mind, the horses come over to investigate me, which then alerts said rabbits to my presence!
