Before Filbert teamed up with Ignatius and the other gunsawians in an alliance, he, like all the Improved hybrids, was forcibly cyborgized. He was given the number 39-I, which meant his legs were replaced with durable prosthetics, but what surprised Filbert most about this horrific procedure was how skillfully they were attached. He could not only walk normally with them, but also run, jump, and even dance, so the guy began to wonder more and more about what the body of both his and the human races was made of and how it functioned. On the grey planet, Filbert was horrified by the enormous losses of hybrids in the form of corpses of varying freshness degrees scattered everywhere. Finding some food, water and a notebook, he began making notes on the basic anatomy of his species. Ignatius found him doing this in the caves, just as Filbert was about to cut the corpse open with a sharp piece of iron. Thus, the alliance acquired a doctor, slowly but surely perfecting his medical skills and making prosthetics from everything possible. He and Iggy also now had a secret, according to which, in exchange for knowledge, Filbert would, whenever possible, be given the bodies of the poor souls who died in the dangerous caves for anatomical study. Thanks to this, the hospital significantly expanded its drug therapeutic capabilities, its staff and its ability to save those who were still alive. But even in this situation, Filbert believes that this knowledge is still insufficient, so he regularly makes requests to scouts to search for rare scientific books for the library, thereby contributing to the technical development of the alliance.
