Battle With Mimic - IDW Sonic the Hedgehog Fan Song
An unofficial battle theme for Mimic the Octopus, from IDW's Sonic the Hedgehog comics.
My first attempt at composing! I think it turned out pretty okay for a first try. I wanted to learn how to make my own songs, so I decided to start with a fan song for a character that doesn't have an official theme. That way, I would have a good starting point, but the rest would be up to me.
I started with the drowning theme, and mixed it up until I had something I liked. I know everyone uses it for their spooky scary Sonic songs, but he's literally an evil octopus. It's way too fitting.
I tried to make different sections represent different parts of the story. I think I managed to do that pretty okay, by using certain instruments to represent different characters and events. I didn't cover absolutely everything, because I didn't want the song to be too repetitive or stale, but I think I did a pretty alright job at building things up to the final fight.
This was heavily inspired by Dark Impetus from Kingdom Hearts. A bunch of Pokemon ended up in there too. Also somehow Donkey Kong 64. Thanks Tangle.
I hope you enjoy it! My next one will be way better. I learned SO much while making this.
