This piano solo of mine is a take on another traditional Italian folk song, "Tarantella Siciliana." I thought about doing it while listening to it one day, remembering how in the Italian restaurants my family and I would eat at (before they tragically closed down) would play traditional Italian folk music on the speakers, alternating it with big band and traditional pop (think Frank Sinatra). Though my ancestry (as far as I know) doesn't contain any Italian people, the music itself is fun to listen to and perform.
