Original Species: South-Elysian Tyrant (remake)
The South-Elysian Tyrant is the slightly smaller, more nimble relative of the North-Elysian Tyrant. This tyrannosaur prowls through the southwest reaches of the continent, mostly preying on creatures such as the Tapirunner or the variety of boar species inhabiting that part of the continent.
When tackling larger animals, such as the Tyrant Boar, these dinosaurs will form small gangs to more easily take prey as dangerous as this. They do not form stable packs. When food is abundant, they tolerate members of their own species, but the moment food becomes scarce, they can turn against each other on a dime. Cannibalism is not uncommon among this species.
In desperate times, gangs of South-Elysian Tyrants can put away their differences and bully larger predators off their kills. Even Crowned Tyrants need to be wary when a group of their smaller cousins waltzes in to steal their food.
More recent observations have shown that South-Elysian Tyrants are pretty good fathers. After mating, the female will remain by the male's side for a few weeks before laying a clutch of 5 to 10 eggs. Once that is done, she leaves her mate to take care of the hatchlings and raise them until they are around 3 years old. By then, they reach 1/3 of their adult size and can fend for themselves, hunting smaller prey and scavenging. But, before they can do that, the father will protect them with his life. A father tyrant may even go up against something as brutal and vicious as an Elysian Manticore.
